Flowers and plants in Australia require a different set of care regime then other plants, especially the native Australian plants. Whether it is kangaroo paw, eucalyptus, melaleuca, acacia, or callistemon, all the plants require care and management thus they can grow properly and increase the gorgeousness of your garden. While determining the care and need of the plant, it is important to have information of the plant, like where it grows, what is the climate of that place, what kind of soil it needs, and what are the water requirements of the plant.
Australia has a diverse terrain thus not all Australian plants can be expected to have similar needs. Somewhere it is mountainous, somewhere desert, and somewhere coastal, therefore having different types of plants all over the Australian territory. If you are selecting plants for Australian garden then do keep a thorough knowledge of the plant. While plating them try to keep similar plants together like if some plants have higher water needs then you cannot plant them near the ones with minimal water needs. The Australian native plants found in the wet coastal region will not grow properly along with the ones found in the Australian deserts. Coastal plants will need more water hence they will die if sufficient water is not given to them, likewise desert plants will start rotting if too much water is supplied to them.
Avoid using chemical fertilizer to provide nutrition to the native plants. Instead go for the organic ones, made from biodegradable materials. Organic fertilizer or biodegradable manures are good for the native Australian flower plants and also for the garden. They do not cause any harm to the plant or your garden as they are free from harmful chemicals. While watering the native plants determine your soil type, if it has high water retaining capacity then water plants once a week only.
