Clean up Australia Day at the Steel Park Marrickvuille site was a big success, we would like to say a big thank you to all the volunteers that came down to participate. There were a few very wet days in the lead up to the event, but sun came out on cue and helped make Auspro Rubbish Removal's first clean up day a great success.
We had a total of 36 volunteers, 25 adults and 11 children come down for two hours to clean up the park and the Cook's River banks. Thanks to their efforts, a total of 380kg of rubbish was removed from the local area, including tyres and old bikes, plastic bottles, aluminium cans and plastic bags - over 35 bags of rubbish collected were pulled out of river, saving our waterways.
Six of the volunteers came equipped with canoes and made their way up and down the Cook River pulling out all sorts of rubbish discarded in the river and along it's bannks, literally filling canoes with rubbish.
